What is the FSC Marketplace?
A platform for connecting buyers and sellers of FSC certified materials and products
The FSC Marketplace is an international platform designed to bring buyers and sellers of FSC certified products in the FSC supply chain together.
It provides information on thousands of different FSC certified products and materials, and can help users find suppliers and buyers across international boarders, promoting global opportunity and equality in trade.
This platform is more than a place to find products or advertise products; it is a key in helping businesses make the right choice and to be competitive in the market.
Certified companies in the FSC supply chain can present information about their company’s production capacity, volumes and species relating to both finished and unfinished products. The platform also provides information about the company itself, including address and other contact details which are shown on a map to help find suppliers in a particular area, region or country.
The FSC Marketplace provides information on partners who might be interested in products along the entire supply chain.
The FSC Marketplace is currently open to all FSC certificate holders. It includes companies from all industry segments, including pulp and paper producers, timber merchants, brokers, manufacturers, furniture producers and primary logging companies, amongst others.
How is the FSC Marketplace different from the FSC Certificate Database?
The FSC Marketplace is different in several key areas:
- The FSC certificate database is intended to allow any stakeholder to check the current validity of any certificate;
- The FSC Marketplace gives additional information on certified companies and more flexibility of presentation whilst integrating the credibility of the FSC certificate;
- Multi-site members and Group Certificates appear as separate entities on the FSC Marketplace whilst showing the valid certificate and license code.
